IRAP YOUTH STRATEGY
The IRAP Youth Employment Program is part of Canada’s Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS), designed to help young Canadians gain valuable work experience in science, technology, engineering, and business development. It is administered by the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP).
Key Benefits:
- Financial assistance for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to hire post-secondary graduates.
- Supports R&D, engineering, multimedia, market analysis, and new product development.
- Helps young professionals transition into Canada’s innovation-driven workforce.
Eligibility:
- Businesses must be incorporated, for-profit SMEs with 500 or fewer employees.
- Candidates must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or refugees, aged 15 to 30.
Internships last 6 to 12 months, with a minimum of 30 hours per week.
